Alabama Thespian Festival (ATF)This annual theatre festival is open to all JC theatre students. It consists of

2026 ATF will be Feb. 13 & 14 at Vestavia Hills High School (Birmingham)
- How can my student attend ATF? Any student in JC Theatre may attend by signing up with Mrs. Patel or Mr. Comer. They will give instructions on signing up in class.
- Does my student have to be a member of the JC Thespian Troupe to attend ATF? No. Any acting or technical theatre student may attend.
- Does my student need a permission form? Yes. They must have the Madison City Schools field trip form and the Out-of-County/Overnight field trip form signed and completed to attend. Please note that the Out-of-County/Overnight form must be notarized. They also must have 2 ATF forms completed and signed. (See forms below)
- What if my student attended Trumbauer? Do they need to fill out another Overnight field trip form? No. If they have already turned in a notarized Overnight form this school year, they do not have to turn in another one.
- Is there a cost? Yes. The cost is $200.
- Can I attend as a parent/guardian? ATF's policies state that only registered students and chaperones may attend the festival.
- Can my student participate in an IE at ATF? Yes. Mrs. Patel or Mr. Comer will let them know what the procedures are for participating in IEs.
- What are the travel arrangements? Students and chaperones travel on charter buses and stay in a hotel close to the festival.
- What if my student takes medication daily? If your student will need over-the-counter or prescription medication on this trip, you must fill out the medication forms below and have them signed by your student's doctor. Drop off meds and med forms to JC Nurse Amira during school hours on days to be announced closer to this trip. NO meds can be accepted the day of the trip.

Every student must have 4 Forms:
1. Madison City Schools ATF Form
2. Notarized Overnight Form
3. ATF Participant Form
4. ATF Conduct Form
If your student attended State Trumbauer this school year, they do not need another notarized Overnight Form.
Medication forms are only required if your student will need medicine on the trip.
